well, from what I've seen, on some sites there isn't even an option to reply if you are not the thread starter OR if you are not a security analyst. So anyone can start a thread there, but after that, only the thread started or a security analyst will be able to answer.
just a thought, though. Means I hit my quota for the month, and it's only the 2nd!

That's the case in the HJT forum here too, as Uppy said, the only time the thread contains posts from anyone but a Security Team member and the OP is before it goes into the HJT section.
I do not move a thread untill I have asked the poster to do HJKL and the prework,then once the log has been posted and prework done I then move it to HJKLs.
I some times give some help or ask a few questions or just greet the new member I may then sugest doing the prework.
If they post a log and it is posted in a none security section I greet the poster and usaly tell them thankyou and move the thread straight to HJKLs.
There maybe other issues besides a virus.

did not know that.....upon reflection, I guess that since I'm on the security team, all posts are opened to me.
