Default Games Review section

Jow guys,

Why not add a games-review section, I think its smart to allow users to post reviews, but they should only be official if they're checked by a staff member, this way we make sure there won't be any **** reviews....

and ofcourse everyone can give his oppinion about a game....

maybe we can implement a vote, and then make a simple game index, wich game is most populair and that kinds of stuff.....

maybe a section for the arcade games on pchf too.....

But the most important section should be the on about 'real' games....

Hope you like the idea!!

I don't think this would happen due to a couple of reasons. Firstly, PCHF is designed for computer help and discussion, not gaming. Secondly, we are tight on database space....

Great idea though, maybe Hengis will like it and implement it, I don't know :-D.

thats true spaceman, but I think the mayority of pc users plays games too, and PCHF is growing in members, so I dont think expanding with new sections, and more database room would be a bad idea.....

That's not a bad idea, ruben. I am a gamer myself, being a GM in asianbattle.net

I like the idea of a game review section but I'm not sure if this the right place for one. It would be nice though as unlike a lot of BBSs out there the rules here are pretty stringent. I almost got a game review section put into one of my city's local papers...I even got a review on Jet Set Radio Future (XBOX) published. That was back when I had the time to sit and finish games. I'd like the chance to actually have my review read... I also have a rather lengthy review on NHL2K6 (no not the EA game) at MP3.com but i think they publish anything and it really wasn't that good because i was constantly interrupted by my daughter who had a bout of colic...fun stuff.

As long as they are well thought out reviews that really pick out a games strengths and weaknesses and not just whether a game "sucks" or "roxors" ***shudder***.

There should also be reviews of all sorts of games, not just new ones but classics, older games (a la Home of the Underdogs) that might have been overlooked or overshadowed by an uber-release like doom or quake caliber releases.

I remember a staggering lack of traffic in the gaming section before this forum got changed over. In fact i remember giving some tips on how to get Theme Hospital running on a newer machine and for weeks there were no posts anywhere so I'm not sure if there would be much demand. Since this is a message board there could be more than one review on each game and ...stuff.
