First of all, I'd like to take this opportunity to say hello to the community. I'm glad that i found this Forum, for I have a Graphic-Problem since quite a while now. I even returned the Graphic-Card but they checked it and it was fine.

    But to the issue:
When I play Witcher 2 or Battlefield 3 I have tiny flickering black dots on surfaces. In Battlefield they can be found on structures like buildings and floors. And in the witcher they are nearly everywhere (Hair, Armor, Plants, Buildings, Prisondoors, etc).
I found a solution on the Internet. That I need to make some changes in my catalyst control center. Like mark all aplication settings and dismark tessellation. It worked for like an hour or so. But now I still have the same Problem.

I have been fighting with this problem for over a year now! And I'd really hate to return the Graphic-card again, for it was not cheap.

    I have a ATI Radeon HD 5800

    Microsoft Windows 7 Home Premium
    Version 6.1.7601 Service Pack 1 Build 7601
    Systemodell Aspire M7720
    Systemtype x64-basierter PC
    Prozessor Intel(R) Core(TM) i7 CPU 920 @ 2.67GHz, 2668 MHz, 4 Kern(e), 8 logische(r) Prozessor(en)
    BIOS-Version/-Date AMI R01-A3, 08.05.2009
    SMBIOS-Version 2.5
Installierter physikalischer Speicher (RAM) 6,00 GB

If anyone could help me with that issue, I'd sure appreceate it : )

    Welcome to PCHF

Download driver sweeper from the link below and then run it and put a check next to amd display then hit analyze make sure that everything to do with the amd display driver is checked then hit the clean button.

    http://download1us.softpedia.com/dl...717/software/security/DriverSweeper_3.2.0.exe

Now reboot your machine and get the latest copy of the AMD driver from the link below just run the AMD update utility.
    http://support.amd.com/us/gpudownload/windows/Pages/auto_detect.aspx

Reboot again after the driver installation then check your game.

    Hi Malnutriton.
I appreceate the advice! unfortunately it didn't work. Actually the driver sweeper nearly crashed my computer. I started it as administrator and so on, but it crashed everytime and I had to kill it via task manager. Some Data of the AMD CCC was gone but some not. So I had so deinstall it manually before I was able to repair it/reinstall it.
But The graphic Issue still occurs.
Now I am kind'a scared off the driver sweeper :p Actually Windows 7 was pretty freh on the PC. So I don't think that old/bad drivers could be the cause of all that.

    Any other Ideas?

Does your machine have an onboard graphics port that you can test?If you do not get the same issue from the onboard graphics port then most likely it is the card.

Well do you have another port to plug your monitor into or is the graphic card the only option? It would help if you could take a pic of the back of your machine and upload it. :)

I tried it, but the output doesn't match with the cable.
So what else is there to do? : (
    kind'a running out of ideas.
Maybe I should just try to return it again, but how can I survive without my g-card for 4 weeks?

What do you use when the card is away, different machine? Also see if a friend has a different cord that you can use just to trouble-shoot the issue. Are you able to test the card in another machine? If it has the same issues in another machine then would return it and demand a new one.
