    I have an HP Pavilion and it is connecting to the router but says no internet access. I can connect with everything else ( smart phones, i pad, ps3). The HP will connect and run when it is wired to the router. I have also downloaded new drives and still nothing. The modem and router have differnt ip adresses. Im not real shure what else to do?


    I have netgear N300 and dsl

    Welcome to the forum. Can you look in my signature below and download the wireless test tool get it onto the pc and then right click and choose run as admin and post the results

    Uninstall Avg then run the AVG Removal tool.
    |MG| AVG Remover 2012.1796 Download

    Reboot if the avg remover doesnt prompt a reboot.

    Install avast free.
    Avast Free Antivirus - Download.com


    Then please disable ipv6
    How to disable IP version 6 (IPv6) or its specific components in Windows 7, in Windows Vista, in Windows Server 2008 R2, and in Windows Server 2008
    Reboot your machine.

    Open an elevated command prompt,then follow the instructions below.

    1. Open your Start Menu
    2. Go to All Programs
    3. Go to Accessories
    4. Right-click Command Prompt
    5. Select Run as administrator
    6. Answer Yes to the following User Account Control question


    In Command Prompt window, type in following commands, and hit Enter after each one:
    ipconfig /flushdns
    ipconfig /registerdns
    ipconfig /release
    ipconfig /renew
    net stop "dns client"
    net start "dns client"


    Restart computer.

    Now see if you can connect wireless.

    You are getting out ok it shows this on the test but you are failing on dns

    Ping request could not find host plus.net. Please check the name and try again.
    DNS request timed out.

    You need to set the dns to 208.67.220.220 & 208.67.222.222 and stop the Bonjour Service as this can give that problem.

    Lastley your MTU is set way out unless your isp is strange and has told you to set it so low. Test it with this software choose mtu/latency test select a url then max mtu button try it with 3 sites from the list it should come back at about 1500 yours is set to 1300 post results

    I have tried all that you have suggested. The little yellow sign on the signale bars is gone but still no acsses. Here is the results that you asked for.

    You will need to have a pdf viewer here is the one I use.

    Also if that doesnt work then go to device manager and uninstall your wireless driver,then reboot.
