Is it possible to have both of these operating systems on one hdd in different partitions so you can run either??
If so, what format is a hdd with mac supposed to be in? Like with windows its NTFS or Fat32 for older ones.
I want to do this because I don't know much about mac and think I should get some more knowledge of it but have XP right now, and want to keep it, but I want to be able to go into either one.
If you can't partition both of these on one hdd, you CAN do this if you have 2 hdd's correct?

Also, how do you suggest partitioning a hdd? What software should I use?

If you love Mac OSX then the best thing to do would be to buy a Mac and put Windows onto it with a Bootcamp partition (requires a reboot) or Parallels virtual machine (use within OSX) :)

Contrary to post 4 I feel I must point out that it is against the Mac EULA to install the operating system on any non Apple computer.
