Windows 8 Browser Screenshot Reveals a Little More UI

I think most Windows 8 followers are more interested in the changing UI’s of Windows 8 than they are minor tweaks to features that have been around for a number of Windows versions. Personally, I completely welcome new features and improvements to the next version of Windows, but the dual, tablet and 3D UI’s we’ve been hearing rumors about are what really have me interested in what Microsoft says is their “…riskiest product bet yet.”

    Windows 8 History Vault Screenshots

Screenshots of new features of the Windows 8 operating system are currently being shown on several websites on the Internet. One of the latest features is Windows 8's History Vault, which was revealed last month for the first time.
History Vault is a new backup and restoration system that is using the Shadow Copy feature of Windows. It basically allows you to restore files from a specific date and time.

New Immersive browser Tablet tile UI screenshot emerges

The UI will be driven by Microsoft’s Metro based design language. Microsoft will include a new application model codenamed “Jupiter” that will allow developers to create Silverlight based applications, deployed as AppX packages (.appx). The packages will be part of a new Windows application store, pre-installed with Windows 8. WinRumors understands the company will be looking to provide an easy way for existing Windows Phone developers to scale their applications for use with Jupiter.

Leaked Windows 8 Build 7955 Activated with Free Windows 7 Beta Product Keys, Reportedly

Leaked copies of Windows 8 can be activated by using nothing more than the product keys that Microsoft supplied for the Windows 7 Beta program, according to reports from users that jumped the gun and started testing Windows vNext already.

Some unofficial Windows 8 testers even note that additional Windows 7 product keys, including those offered for the Release Candidate (RC) and RTM development milestones of Windows Vista’s successor also work to activate the next version of Windows.

Multiple Windows 8 editions, again – at what point is it too many?

From the latest leaked build of Windows 8, “dungeon” from the Windows 8 Center forums opened up the setup.cfg file and was able to uncover a list of Windows 8 versions to come. Nothing is official at this point, but this is what was found within the Windows 8 Build 7955 files. Below is a list of Windows 8 SKUs lined up for ARM devices. Full list can be found be found at the bottom of the post.

    Wow.. Again Multiple editions <.<

They should do like Windows XP

    and add 1 more like

    - Windows 8 Basic
    - Windows 8 Home Edition
    - Windows 8 Professional

Something like that, it really annoys me there are too many editions.

Further evidence of Microsoft’s Online ID integration in Windows 8 has been revealed this week.

Microsoft is currently building cloud settings sync integration into the next generation of Windows. Earlier this week, details of a control panel item for “Roaming Options” were discovered under User Accounts. Windows8beta has posted further evidence of Microsoft’s Online ID integration. An out-of-box-experience (OOBE) dialog screen details the Windows account options setup screen that allows Windows 8 users to link their Online ID to the computer or simply create a local account.

Windows 8 Explorer Finally Gets Better Drag And Drop Support

It is sometimes the small things, the nuisances that you had to deal with for a very long time, that can make a huge difference. When it comes to Windows’ default file browser Windows Explorer, there have been lots of small things that users hoped would change with every new release of the Windows operating system.

Windows 8 Store Client and Service Traces Found in Build 7955

The fact that Windows 8 will be accompanied by a Cloud application hub dubbed the Windows Store is not really much of a secret anymore.
Of course, not because Microsoft has shared officially any details on either of the two, since this is not the case, and probably won’t be until later this year when the Windows 8 Beta development milestone goes live.

The "roam free" function will be very welcome if it works...

I can see this becoming a massive asset in the corporate environment.

SO far on 7955 it does appear to work, but much work still needs to be done.
