..sent here to destroy the Earth (or at least computing as we know it!). 12 Year Old uses Windows 8 45 Year Old uses Windows 8 Be afraid!
The kid appears to be a sharp cookie and the old boy knows the script and one wouldn't expect them to know the ins and outs immediately but come on, when it comes down to outright confusion Microsoft does it extremely well. Again the old adage applies "DON'T TRY TO FIX WHAT AIN'T BUSTED". Saying that however you have me intrigued and I'll stick it on my lappy to see for myself.
Windows 7 is a thing of beauty. Windows 8 is its ugly, airhead, chatterbox, no-fashion sister. Microsoft are entering a very interesting time.....hmmm......
What frightens me is that someone will install it without knowing how to work it. Looks like PCHF will get a lot of work in the near future methinks.
Hurdle straight away. What's the product key? It's ok I got it from here. http://www.addictivetips.com/news/windows-8-product-key/
Truthfully, I was "interested" in it for about a day or so. That was months ago and I haven't had the compunction to return since.
I don't have any problems with Windows 8, respecting the fact its still in beta. Sure I do have problems with the poor shell, but I had those since Windows XP already and it never got any better. Thats why I always perform management tasks by the CLI. Simple conclusion for me is that Microsoft works to fast, and spends to too much time on useless innovation what they call user friendlyness. Windows' "user friendlyness" makes the OS unnecessary complicated and giving system administrators a hard time if it doesn't function. If I click "Administator" in the start menu, I want explorer to open C:\Users\Administrator as any other folder, I don't need the f****** library stuff or "Administrator" in the address bar.
Well I've managed to dump the IE icon on the task bar and replace it with FF and changed the wallpaper to a nice looking island and got My Documents onto the desktop, I should have it tamed in a couple of days, it's fast though I will admit. Not for the feint hearted initially though.
I could shut it down Go to desktop > right click > new short cut > "Shutdown -S" No but really, Windows 8 looks TERRIBLE. All I saw through out this video was pure LAG. Imagine if your PC froze and how you to go the bottom left. That would freeze and you're (I know I know) screwed. I will NEVER use windows 8. XP was good but lacked many things, Vista well... can go to the bin where all the bad tech goes... Windows 7 is perfect for me. Just to many pop ups and to many warnings from windows. Other then that, I'm good.
