What might cause this?

    Aside from the obvious 'faulty monitor' is there anything specific maybe that makes the screen do that?

    If i turn it off then on again it is ok for a while, but it then begins to break up again

    Don't about the monitor,but to me it looks like your graphics is going out,whether a card or integrated..

    Do you think it might still be that if it clears up after turning the monitor off/on?

    So you are saying after the monitor warms up it clears up?

    No, if i turn it off and then on again

    I've just tried it on a laptop and it was fine. I'm now back on my pc and it's still fine

    If i get chance i will try another monitor on my pc

What might cause this?
