Solved Weird Network

    To clarify, this is not about the router or anything, as explained if you have user isolation set on you anint going anywhere

    how to do i turn off this option? i have search on my dlink router in the network thing. But when i am connecting to my router, when it is identifying, it says that no network is avaible and that only internet access is available

    Its likely to be under wireless setting

    I have now Windows 7 and i do not see anything like this in the Network and Internet\Network and Sharing Center\Advanced sharing settings

    Its not the pc its setting on the router

    well, the only option on my router about network is about DHCP SERVER, Universal Plug and Play (UPnP), WAN PING, GAMING mode, and Multicast stream. all of the above are turned on. The wireless setting is about range, Extended Range Mode, 802.11g Only Mode, Enable Hidden Wireless.

    I have check the firewall and PPTP Passthrough, L2TP Passthrough, IPSec Passthrough are enable. again in the firewall, i have seem the The DMZ (Demilitarized Zone) , witch isolate a computer, but no computer is listed

    I cant find it in the manual have you got a cable so you could try both on a cable this would test to see if its the problem

    I am at the moment using the 1st port of my router to conect to the internet and have the wireless connection (my cable is a "100Mbps FULL Duplex")

    we need both on a network cable as that rules out the wireless security just to test

    k so i have connected the other pc to a cable, on the second port of my router (thanks god ts a laptop!) but still: he can access my shared files but i cant. maybe its about the permissions, but i am sure i have set the permission of "everyone" to full control

    if your using
    net use p \\pcname\c$ password /user:username

    its a admin so it will be set right by default

    if it help, when i have generating the LAN network map, it say that both pc are conected to a switch, then a gateway then to the internet
