USB Can't Find my Mouse Drivers or Controllers for Mouse device(Mouse installing problems)

    It´s me again after like 3 months, im not here because im having BSOD problems, no BSODs in the last 3 months.



    My mouse yesterday stopped working, the lights of it still switch on when plugged in but the cursor doesn´t move, it just stands right in the center of the screen. I think it was a problem of the USB mouse itself, the end part of the cable was in bad shape. I just bought a new one and plugged in to the USB port and he is working fine but everytime i reboot my pc it keeps popping that message that" a new device was found and needs to be installed" so i acept and try to install but im never able to do it, it asks me for a CD but i don not have any cd, i click on the option to search for the controller software in my computer but it says it can´t find any controller software for this device. In the device manager, under the mouse and other poiting devices there is a unrecognized device which is the USB mouse itself, on the human interface devices there is a USB Optical Mouse and when i press properties it says it is working fine. I do not see any yellow exclamations marks, but when i press the option to see if there is changes in the hardware that same message that i said in the beggining keeps popping, sometimes even the mouse just stops working and i have to reinstall my pc.

    My Name is Diana and i work as a Dell Social Media Responder.

    I would first request you to check if this USB mouse is working on a different system , if yes then check if the USB ports are working by connecting different USB devices. If the other USB devices are working fine then please update the Chipset drivers from the manufacturer's website and restart the system and check. If the issue still persist’ s Click on start--type device manager--expand Universal Serial Bus controller and uninstall all the USB root hub's by right clicking on each of the USB root hub's. And restart the system and check if the issue is resolved.

    I can´t install that progam you posted in the second link, it says:" This system does not meet the minimum requirements to install the software"

    I did that what Diana said in her post, to uninstall all th USB root hub´s and when i uninstalled the penultimate the mouse stopped working and the keyboard lights turned off, needless to say that it also stopped working, so i couldn´t do anything, my only solution was to shut down the computer on the front button.
    Now everytime i switch on my pc i get that message i described in my first post( " a new hardware was found") not only for mouse but also for keyboard and 2 other unknown devices , i try to install them by searching for the software in my computer but it keeps saying it can´t find anything and installation keeps on failing, now this annoying more than before.

    Where can i get the controller software for these devices, USB mouse and now keyboard( after i uninstalled all those USB root hub´s). It is a wheel mouse, and they are both Fujitsu Siemens.

    You might give drivermax a shot.Just make sure and un tick the boxes in the shot below when installing drivermax.

    Create a restore point then open note pad and copy and paste the contents of the code box into the notepad and call it update.reg then save it to your desktop and then right click it then select merge then reboot and see if you are able to install service pack one.

    I had another thought reviewing your old thread it seems there are some errors with your trusted installer,from your minitoolbox logs.Can you hit the start button and copy and paste the contents of the code box into the run box,open the file and tell me if the trusted installer.exe is located there?Or if you are not sure then post a screen shot so that I can see please.

    Tried install Service Pack 1 again, after i did that notepad thing you said, and also by deactivating the anti-virus before proceed to the installation, and still no luck, same error code as before i guess: Error Code:0X800F0826

    I really have no clue why this keeps happening, maybe you can give me other direct link where i can download SP1 and SP2, don´t know, maybe something is wrong with the ones i downloaded, but keep in mind that they need to support Portuguese language or else i can´t install it on my PC.

    Open an elevated command prompt.Hit the start button the type cmd in the run box,right click the cmd and select run as admin.

    Now type net stop bits

    Now go to the following file location. c:\windows\softwaredistribution\datastore\logs Then select everything inside and delete it some may resist deletion,it is ok skip the ones that will not delete.
    Now reboot your machine and run the fix it in the link below You may have already run this one but you will need to run it again since we are performing the steps above.

    Open An elevated Command Prompt and Type or copy and paste the contents of the code box hitting enter after each one,then typing exit and rebooting the machine.

    Now just try and visit windows update and install anything at all.

    After my set of instructions check windows update and if it is a no go then I would like for you to try and run the fix it below from the built in admin account that is in vista.

    Open an elevated command prompt and copy and paste or type the contents of the code box into the command prompt window.

net user administrator /active:yes
    Now log out of your account and log into the admin account.Then run the fix it below and put a tick next to aggresive mode.

    After i did what you wrote in your 13th reply of this topic, i went to windows update and searched for updates and it didn´t found any new update to install, now i will try this last thing you said and i'll keep you posted. I have to thank you once again for spending all this time with me trying to find solutions to my problems, thank you sir:)

    UPDATE:Ok, i think im done trying to install the Service Packs, tried what you wrote on your last post and still no luck. The PC has been working fine without them so i think it will be good this way, anyway, if you do find any other solution i will sure try it out.
