We are definitely the only one to the extent that we will never ever meet other intelligent organic species. The circumstances to allow life on a planet have been proven to be VERY (triple emphasize this) uncommon to result. I might as well answer that for something to do this morning. If there are aliens as we imagine, their transportation wouldn't be deigned to give lift from wings as birds and aircraft are. They had to get here through an airless void.
However, I myself have never subscribed to life forms visiting from other worlds for one reason only. They are so far away that even at the speed of light it wouldn't be practical.
If the so called aliens were permanent space travellers in some kind of mother ship, we would today be able to see it with the optical Hubble telescope alone let alone huge radio telescopes.
This brings me to say that these advanced beings are either already here or have always been here.
If anyone subscribes to the Bible, and my observations of people here on the forum assured me that many are ultra theologically inspired, then you will be aware that the Bible has many passages talking about wondrous sights in the heavens in the final days. Here is one. Joel 2:30 "And there will be wondrous signs in the heavens".
There is also the possibility that these creatures live in a parallel dimension and have the ability to slip in and out of it just to keep us guessing.
Who knows? I don't.
But rather than solve this mystery, perhaps one of the elite on here can tell me why the text changes size and colour because I'm not doing anything as it's just typed not cut and pasted.

Believing is valuable if the idea is carried by our society as we are social, those that adhere an illusionary reality (edit: the bible or ufo's apply here) and neglect ideas that compete with our mind's strength are the primitive and ignorant among us, hiding their underdevelopment for logical reasoning. If one wants a proper position, he has to believe what society believes. And our modern society builds on logical layers of information. I can tell you the moon is not round, but I would only be ignored, deservedly.

Thanks for the update. Nothing in the news at all here far to the south about this.

What I can't quite understand is what is all the dithering is about? It is in shallow water compaired to all the difficulties they had with investigations like the Titanic and Bismark. Why haven't we now received a comprehensive report?
We are fortunate to have the thing where it is and being openly reported in the Daily Mail and not in the desert in America where everything now can't be believed because of the secrecy that surrounds everything in America that results in people not believing anything.
I noted the part about the cutting out of electrical circuits, but if simple me was there on the spot, I would lower a camera on a cable from the surface with incandescent lights to illuminate the thing. Magnetic fields won't interfere with either of those.
But that's just me.

Too many omissions. Something that puzzles me is if the object can disrupt electrical devices at 200 meters then what took so long to find the thing. It should be radiating enough energy across the spectrum to be noticed for hundreds of miles.
