    Hi Guy's. I am stuck here. I am running Windows ME and happy with it, but Somehow or other I have part of Win 2000 which has at some time got put on as a result of a failed attempt to install Win 2000. So when I start up I get the option of running Win 2000 or Win ME. I want rid of this Win 2000, which actually isn't there. If anyone should click on the Win 2000 they just get a load of rubbish and have to restart the computer.
    I have tried to remove it, but cannot find it anywhere. There is no trace of Win 200 in Regedit or anywhere else. Please Guy's, where do I look to find it and how can I remove it and just have the Win ME? Can anyone help this old guy out? Thanks. Walt

    I am correct that it is win me just checking why they suggest editing xp boot.ini above?

    If its ME then you want a ME boot floppy which you can create in ME boot from it then type
    fdisk /mbr
    Try then if it doesnt fix it boot the floppy again and type
    sys c:
