Hello, just signed up to ask you guys for some help. A few months back I bought a new laptop and several weeks later I installed an SSD and moved the HDD to the CD-ROM slot (don't know if this has anything to do with my problems, but I'll just give you the complete story). The last month or so I'm having some difficulties.. When I first booted my laptop it would startup in seconds, but now, after the Windows welcome and loading screen I get a black screen before seeing the desktop. This takes several seconds, sometimes longer than other. My second problem is that windows freezes/crashes (the screen freezes and I can't do anything). This happens once or twice a week, thought it was random, but just now it happened when I unplugged my external usb soundcard (maybe the previous times it had the same cause, I can't remember). So I looked at my event viewer and it shows a lot of errors, don't know if it relates, but I'll post a screen of the errors from around the time it froze. Edit: You can see that error 1, 3, 11, 1001, 7038 and 7000 all happen when booting.
Hello. Please download this tool http://www.mediafire.com/download.php?d53ohzo1ec6bxmw and save it to the desktop. Run it as admin and attach the produced archive. If the archive size is over 1MB, upload it here www.speedyshare.com
At first I doubted your SSD drive, kind of prejudiced against them lol but your firmware is updated and the drive seems to be in good condition. This type of problem is usually not SSD related, anyhow. I have a feeling your laptop may be infected with something, read these and act accordingly http://www.pchelpforum.com/xf/threads/read-before-following-prework-instructions.64632/ http://www.pchelpforum.com/xf/threads/prework-please-read-before-posting.131846/ You make sure to attach all the required logs and I'll ask the staff to move this thread to the virus removal board.
Please download Malwarebytes Anti-Malware from Malwarebytes.org Alternate link: Download Mirror (Note: if you already have the program installed, just follow the directions. No need to re-download or re-install!) Double Click mbam-setup.exe to install the application. (Note: if you already have the program installed, open Malwarebytes from the Start Menu or Desktop shortcut, click the Update tab, and click Check for Updates, before doing the scan as instructed below!) Make sure a checkmark is placed next to Update Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware and Launch Malwarebytes Anti-Malware, then click Finish. If an update is found, it will download and install the latest version. Once the program has loaded, select "Perform Full Scan", then click Scan. The scan may take some time to finish,so please be patient. When the scan is complete, click OK, then Show Results to view the results. Make sure that everything is checked, and click Remove Selected. When disinfection is completed, a log will open in Notepad and you may be prompted to Restart. If you are prompted to restart, please allow it to restart your computer. Failure to do this, will cause the infection to still be active on the computer. Please save the log to a location you will remember. The log is automatically saved by MBAM and can be viewed by clicking the Logs tab in MBAM. The log can also be found at C:\Documents and Settings\Username\Application Data\Malwarebytes\Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware\Logs\log-date.txt or at C:\Program Files\Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware\Logs\log-date.txt Copy and paste the entire report in your next reply. If Malwarebytes fails to download please use the following link: http://malwarebytes.org/mbam-download-exe-random.php

Well, there are no bsods. You said "moved the HDD to the CD-ROM slot", what does that mean? I'd unplug that drive and see if that changes anything. Also, right click my computer > manage > click disk management and create a screenshot of the drive layout.
Because the SSD was only 128GB, I wanted to have some extra storage> So I moved the original hard drive to the place where the CD-ROM used to be, with help of a so called caddy. I'll try to boot without the extra drive tomorrow and see what happens.
I have edited in this bit above, you may have not noticed it. To me it seems the system may be detecting the drive incorrectly.
