Try running the lqfix (elitebar remover) again , and have a look to see if any of youre anti malware , rootkit , and av apps find anything. You can also post a new hjt log to checkout.

Sorry i forgot to reply afterwards

anyway the lqfix found 16 things in the registry and deleted them, so did the look2me remover which i also ran. Doing frequent Spyware doctor scans and rarely finding a "low risk" malware infection... i cant remember what it was called but will report if SD picks it up again.

    HJT log attached.

Youre hjt log is clean atm , and that last detection from Spybot is nothing to worry about. You can add that to the ignore list.

PS , i see you have one of those new AGEIA PhysX cards , how do you like that sofar?

Actually its only the driver - you have to install it with the ghost recon advanced warfighter demo.

GeForce 6800 is good enough -.-

So... is there anything else to be done to make sure im clean?

According to Joe, your log is CLEAN!!:hello:

Are you showing any further unusual signs? If not then I am going to officially call this a successful malware removal.

So, if anything else shows up, please let us know. In the mean time, we look forward to seeing you around the forums, just for the fun of it.

well... the only symptom left is the windows security alerts and my pc running extra slow... but i think the lag is due to the amount of **** running at startup.

I keep selecting "i will monitor my own" but it keeps UNselecting upon the next startup.

    :) Hey Guys,

@NHH, do me a favor, save me from having to read the innumerable pages of this thread, :D , have we had you do a thorough registry cleaning and a defrag during this nightmare?

If we have, then it very well may be time for you to do a clean install on your PC, lots of people do it as a regular part of their PC maintenance a couple of times a year.

If we have not, then it is definitely time that we did. I personally like RegSupremePro, because it is very thorough, to use it, download the program from my signature and install it. It will want to create a back up of your cache, let it. Click on the Registry Cleaning Tab, choose Aggressive. When it has finished, click on Select, and choose All. Click on Fix, and let it fix everything that it has found.

Then run the Defrag utility; Right click on My Computer, choose Manage, under Storage, click on Disk Defragmenter. Have it analyze, and then run the utility on all harddrives.

    Looking forward to your reply,

Also how much protection have you got running atm? More then one AV , one firewall , and one anti spyware app?

    A slightly more pressing matter.

i was playing Counter Strike : Source today when my pc froze. I Turned it off using the switch then pressed the switch again to turn it back on. The "packard bell" screen comes up and then... nothing. It just stays there. I've tried restarting multiple times but nothing will work. I cannot turn my pc on. I am making this post from a second pc.

    -Turn on
-A bit of text "Nvidea 6800" and that sort of thing
    -Packard Bell screen (Freeze)

I have no idea whether its related to the malware, whether its windows being buggy or the latest windows update i downloaded causing the problem.

    Also, the following happened yesterday

    - my AVG detected a "Trojain.Downloader Exploit" - i selected "heal"
    - Spyware Doctor's negligable objects list was "corrputed - this is usually a sign of malware activity. A full system scan is recommended" : The scan found nothing

This followed by my pc passing out comletely the following day.

If nothing helps i might even resort to buying a new pc. If it does come to this - any recommendations?

I waited overnight to see if it was overheating that caused the problem - the pc still wont turn on. Now checking if its a loose stick of RAM.

    Java/Byteverify found in
    - Blackbox.class
    - VerifyerBug.class
    - beyond.class
    - Count.Jar-(random numbers+letters).zip

I think this nightmare isn't quite over yet. Please remove the "fixed" tag on the thread title
