Hello, I have uninstalled an old version of Avast Free antivirus to install the latest version. Unfortunately, there is a remaining service "avast! Antivirus" that remains active each time I reboot my computer, even if I remove it. It points to "C:\Program Files\Alwil Software\Avast5\AvastSvc.exe", which no longer exists (the directory C:\Program Files\Alwil Software\Avast5 has been uninstalled). Does anyone know how I can definitely and permanently remove it from my computer so that I can reinstall the newer version? I have already used the "aswclear.exe" utility several times without success. I have already rebooted in safe mode and deleted the service, however, it appears again once I reboot in normal mode. I have already installed a new version (version 6) and it works. However, it is after not possible to reboot the computer normally. When I then reboot in safe mode, I can see that the Avast service has been modified and points to C:\Program Files\Alwil Software\Avast5 again, which still does not exist. I assume this is the reason why the reboot is not possible in normal mode (conflicts of Avast services ?). Thanks in advance for your help.
