I was deleting old files to free up more disk space and I believe I also deleted Microsoft Word. When I attempt to open word files, the Word Pad version appears. I have tried searching under "All programs" Microsoft Office and MS Word is not listed. I also searched the Add/Delete section and it is not listed. This is the area where I believe I deleted the program.
I have been unable to locate the software CD's that came with my laptop-Dell Inspiron 6000.
Is it possible to recover MS Word?

    Hello ataz...

Go back to yesterday and use your system restore,or any time prior to your cleaning...

You might also check to see if the MS Word folder is still in the recycle bin, if it is you can restore it.

System restore gave me two choices and neither one would allow me to go back more than 4 days. When I selected "Restore computer to earlier time", a calendar came up with the month of August however the system would only allow me to choose the last 4 days. I did try this but I did not recover MS Word. I believe I deleted it over a week ago. I than selected "Create a restore point". Here the system asked me for a restore point description. I inputted a general description and then the system, not me created a restore point, which was today. Can I select an earlier time other than what the system provides? If yes, what do I need to do? Thanks.

No files with the words"winword". Since I worked on this on Sunday and didn't pay any attention to the number of files, I will guess there were 50-100. I did use the deep search option.

I have been unable to locate any of the CD's that came with the computer. Since the hard drive has only 40 GB, I'm now considering upgrading the hard drive and loading all new software. I will post in your hardware section to see if anyone has had experience in doing this.
    Thanks for your help.
