    I'll test in slot 2.

Is there any way to test the motherboard for errors seperately?

If I RMA my mobo i'll have to remove all the thermal paste and reapply everything with a new MOBO aren't I.

    Grr. :(

    Nothing but bad luck me.

Memtest86 on the good RAM stick in slot 2. Left it running up to test #7, no problems at all (the other stick shows problems starting at test 1)

Is there any way to test if the Graphics card is damaged?

Well, furmark is the way to do it, if it throws fragments it's probably damaged. You can also try inserting it into some other PC. What was the GPU temp you were getting in furmark?

It hits about 72, then I either get a permanent black screen, or I get a colour screen with running lines.

Will run a fur mark right now, full screen, current screen resolution, burn in at 4x msaa. Will update very soon with result.

    60,000ms, 20fps. Completed. 74degrees C.

It seems relatively spontaneous whether or not it finishes, which has lead me to believe over the last day or so that maybe the pci-e is playing up intermittently.
(btw, thank you SO much for helping at this time of day, nearly 10.30pm if you're UK based. Thank you nonetheless)

Will let it cool back down and run a second test to verify.

    23:30, GMT+1 actually. And it's called insomnia.

That temp is fine, but there's a high probably you'll need to RMA that card. And probably change the store.

I bought everything but the RAM from Aria.co.uk

(though the original RAM was purchased through them, they came recommended to me)

Could you enlighten me as to why i'd need to RMA the video card, is it just because if I RMA the mobo i'll pretty much have to RMA everything else too.

Because of these black screens and running lines when stressed, I doubt that GPU is doing OK. From my experience, stuff like that points to a GPU defect.

    Point taken.

I'll see if one of my friends has a PCI-E slot I can test my card in on their machine.

Missus wants to go watch a film, will reply either later, or in the morning. Once again, thank you very much for all your help. You've stopped me from wanting to throw the whole thing out of the window.

    Urgh.

Ran a Prime95 test on the processor this morning. Had to stop it within 3 minutes, not due to errors reported on prime 95, but because core-temp said all of my cores suddenly hit 255degrees.

I highly doubt they hit 255 simulateously, but I guess that means that my processors on the wonk aswell :/

No, again I think the mobo is seriously busted.

255 degrees would be just too much :D It's actually the maxium a bite value can hold, it was probably a buffer overflow or something. Have you managed to find a compatible PC you can test with? I'd test the GPU and both memory sticks.

Not yet but i'll keep looking.

Just hope that Aria will give me the money back for my parts. I haven't done anything to physically or atleast visually damage them (as far as I know)

Update: Seem to have solved graphics problems. After flashing the bios I forgot to disable the on board graphics, so it seemed to be causing some problems for the PCI-E card.

Have since ran FurkMark 3 times with no problems, but will keep an eye on it.

OK, good. After flashing the BIOS you should always reload safe defaults, sorry for not mentioning that before.
