Hello im back again with another problem -_-. Anyway, when i go to turn my computer on it will start up the fans will come on lights and everything then 4-5 seconds later the computer will turn off, this cycle repeats for about 5 times then the computer will come on and function normally (as im using it now). The first thing that came to mind would be is my computer getting enough power?

    my specs are:

    i5 2500k 4.2 GHz 1.36vcore
    Nvidia 560ti
    4GB RAM
    Gigabyte z68 d3 b3
    1tb hdd
and the power supply i use is a 500w xigmatek.

Please tell me its just the power supply lol. Thanks

Theres a chance theres an intermittent problem with your psu, do you by any chance have a digital multimeter? theres also a chance of leaky capacitors have you inspected the motherboard?

Can you disable overclocking and test again?

And why so? You are just on the edge with 500W. Any chance you can borrow and test with a higher rated PSU?

nope, the reason i believe its wrong is i have done that test before and it gave me a higher watt.

You must not have included some component. If you can test another PSU, it would confirm that the culprit is your current one.

Could the motherboard really have gone bust within 2 months of me having the computer?

To be honest, I cannot say anything from here. You can try testing with different component replacements(for instance, the PSU) to narrow down the approach.
