Iv been using my pc for about 2 and a half years flawlessly and its randomly started cutting out the display ,but the computer is still on. The only way to get the screen back is to turn it off by using the button on the front and then turning it back on my graphics card is a nvidia geforce 9500 GT i think,i cant check other pc specs as im not at home.sorry for a long first post .
Welcome to PCHF I would be interested to know if the monitor works on another PC - can you test that?
Yes i use a small one for my pc and a 24" for my ps3 ill swap them when i get back ,in msi afterburner it says that my GPU is at about 100C so i was thinking maybe overheating? Thanks for the welcome.
Yep. Take a look at the card and make sure; The fan is spinning on the card It is free from dust Other fans in the case are also free from dust and spinning freely
ok i'll do that when i get back, also just a quick question will this motherboard (http://www.asrock.com/mb/overview.asp?model=g31m-s) fit i a normal ATX case?
its because when my mum brought my PC she didn't save the specs and i therefore don't know whats in my PC apart from what CPU-Z tells me, so i'm trying to slowly upgrade/replace it with known brand parts.
I will be going home today so in a few hours ill be able to test a different monitor and i will get back to everyone then
Bad news iv changed my monitor and it cut out after about an hour which is quicker than normal i think
just turned my pc on with the side panel off and the gpu fan is not spinning,i can move it with a pen if that helps?
