    Iv been using my pc for about 2 and a half years flawlessly and its randomly started cutting out the display ,but the computer is still on. The only way to get the screen back is to turn it off by using the button on the front and then turning it back on my graphics card is a nvidia geforce 9500 GT i think,i cant check other pc specs as im not at home.sorry for a long first post .

    Welcome to PCHF

    I would be interested to know if the monitor works on another PC - can you test that?

    Yep. Take a look at the card and make sure;
    • The fan is spinning on the card
    • It is free from dust
    • Other fans in the case are also free from dust and spinning freely

    Sure, it won't do any harm - just don't touch anything internal whilst the PC is powered up.

    Yea, a micro ATX board should fit into a regular ATX case with no problems.

    its because when my mum brought my PC she didn't save the specs and i therefore don't know whats in my PC apart from what CPU-Z tells me, so i'm trying to slowly upgrade/replace it with known brand parts.

    Sounds like we could be looking at a faulty graphics card or motherboard in that case.
