Just bought a new machine, hoping to play some games on it.

It plays and runs Football Manager 2011 fine, perfect in fact.

But will I get Call Of Duty/etc to run ok using the NVIDIA GeForce GT 320 graphics card?

    thanks ;)

    Hi smackhead,

    Welcome to PCHF. *wel

Here you go, here's a link to a page that tells you the benchmarks on a bunch of different games for that card, including COD (which it says is playable on high detail). - NVIDIA GeForce GT 320M - Notebookcheck.net Tech

^I think he's talking about the Desktop OEM version found here: GeForce GT 320

I'm not going to lie to you. The GT 320 is not an amazing graphics card. It's better than most integrated graphics will be though and you will be able to get some gameplay out of it.

You will probably be able to play Call of Duty but at lowered graphics settings and probably a lower resolution like 1024x768 (possibly as low as 800x600 but I think it's better than that).

If you play a lot of PC Games I would recommend upgrading to an nVidia GeForce GT 240 or GT 430 at the very least. You could also go the AMD rout and get a Radeon HD 5570 or HD 4670.

Better still would be an ATi Radeon HD 5670 which is a very powerful card considering it doesn't require an extra power connector. I'd say it's a perfect card for people who want to be able to play a lot of games without breaking the bank.

And if you have a lot of extra money to spend you could consider a GeForce GTS 450, GeForce GTX 460, Radeon HD 5750 or Radeon HD 5770 which are very good cards that are at a consumer-level price range. They also require extra power cables and likely a power supply upgrade unless your power supply is over 500w.

Hi, dont know if im a bit late but i have a gt320, with an i5 processor and 6 gb of ram. Im looking for a new gfx card atm as i gt the desktop very cheep and that was the only thing i thought that lacked the power however i have installed CoD: black opps and i can run it at a resolution of 1680x1050 with all the textures on extra, and the rest of the graphics on full which gives me 50 - 70 fps which is perfectly playable.
    Hope this helps.
