Yes raghav, My apologies for the delay. Try the following:
Please download HostsXpert 4.4
Extract (unzip) HostsXpert.zip to a permanent folder on your hard drive such as C:\HostsXpert
Double-click HostsXpert.exe to run the program.
Click "Make Writable? "
Click "Restore MS Hosts File".
Click OK at the confirmation box.
Click "Make ReadOnly?".
Click the X to exit the program.
-- Note: If you were using a custom Hosts file you will need to replace any of those entries yourself.
its says that my host has the idden file attribute and even if i remove it the same error occurs that it cannot find the hosts file
I'd like you to try this.
Please download Pocket Killbox from here
Double click to run the tool
Copy and Paste the following into the Full Path of File to Delete box
Select Delete on Reboot and click the Delete button
Click on Exit and Reboot the computer.
Download MVPS Hosts from here and follow the instruction given here
Let me know if there is any improvement in performance.
thanks ian this one fixed the issue the block has been removed
Can you provide a new set of OTL logs for me to check I've got you cleaned..
i have attached the log below
Can you go to the Add/Remove Programs section of the Control Panel and remove any instance of Spyhunter..
We also need to reset Internet Explorer back to the default settings to remove the last few bad add ons.
Download and run this Microsoft Fixit for Me tool to reset Internet Explorer. If you use a specific Homepage you will need to set that again afterwards.
i did it ian, is there any thing else to be done ?
Sorry for the delay raghav,
Can you post me one more set of OTL logs, I need to check that it's all clear before we move on.
Do you still require assistance with this?
An update would be appreciated.
