Hi novadia, you have to change your IP-address to "192.168.0.1". That will solve the problem.

Wait, please go to cmd first (start > run > cmd)
Type 'ipconfig' without quotes and post it here

Then you have too call your ISP, its almost sure that its an IP problem or your router and modem may conflict. This is a known problem so I'm sure they have a solution for you.
I'm not very known with 192.168.2.2, so I don't want to risk your internet connection.

so if i go to at&t and buy their wireless router/modem in one then you think this will be fixed? will i need to uninstall or undo my network at is currently exists or will i just plug in the new router/modem and it'll all work?

Yes, a new router and modem should fix the problem in theory, but I still recommend you to contact your ISP in case it is a IP problem, if it is, then there is no need to buy a new one.
btw, did you bought your current router and modem separately?

Yes, i had the wireless router from when i had a cable modem and now i've switched over to dsl so maybe that's the problem? in any case, i just returned my non-router modem and got a router/modem and i hooked up both my personal and work computer and my printer to the network. we'll see if it works. i'll let you know once i've been away from the computer for a while.
