I recently moved into a new home and when I unpacked my computer and hooked it up in my new place, the monitor reads No DVI signal. I tried using a VGA to DVI cord, a VGA to VGA cord, a new DVI to DVI cord and an hdmi cord. The same thing happens, no signal found. I'm using the monitor with my laptop just fine. My desktop was custom built from parts ordered on newegg and is about a year old. I tried unplugging everything and re-seated my gfx card but nothing is working. There are no beeps on start up but a few times when it did work I did hear beeps and it showed me my temp before booting up normally. That happened every once and a while and I figured it was normal.

LED2 shows no light but LED1 is glowing red.
All fans are spinning even the gfx cards.
desktop sounds just like it always does.
1 of my USB ports on the fron got shorted because something chewed on my ipod cord
and I didn't see the bite marks when i plugged it in. It's been shorted for about 2 months and
if I plugged anything into that port the comp would just shut off. I put tape over it and haven't used
    it since.

I have it plugged into a surge protector with the monitor. If I plug anything else in to the surge protector the desktop will sometimes have a delayed start.

I want to know if somehow during that 8 mile drive here I broke something. my Motherboard maybe?
My graphics card seems to be working, but I don't want to put it in my friends comp to test because if it was faulty and broke his comp I would never hear the end of it. The card was a bit dusty and everything is plugged in so I just have no Idea whats going on or what to do. it worked fine and now no picture shows Halp :C

Use the onboard video. It may be necessary to reset BIOS to enable the port, but simply removing the video card may force the onboard video to work.

Also, no beeps + no video? Often, this indicates faulty RAM. Remove ALL sticks and boot. Got beeps and/or video?

I tried removing the graphics card and still no signal. I put the card back in and removed the ram sticks. Monitor didnt even try to get signal after that. I removed graphics card and sticks and no signal. No beeps during all of this. All of the lights and fans turned on normally even without the ram and graphics card. so it must be my motherboard right? I really hope its not my ram I like this sticks.

-Oh and when I removed my graphics card I had no where to put the dvi so I ran a vga cord from the motherboard to the monitor if that matters.

I cleared the CMOS header and turned on my desktop. Nothing changed, still no video. I read the manual to see what the leds mean and LED1 is of and LED2 is on so that means there is a VGA error. I don't think that matters much since I hardly ever use a vga cord. So I'm completely confused on what is going wrong here.

In this case, VGA error is referring to the onboard video components/circuitry.
    You should be hearing beeps.

    Please confirm:
A speaker is connected on the motherboard.

    Capture.PNG

    Please confirm:
    Remove video card.
    Remove all RAM sticks.
    Connect onboard video.
    Power on.

    What happens?

    Please confirm:
Power cord was removed for BIOS reset.

    If all questions are confirmed:
    Replace power supply.

If system continues to provide no video, failed motherboard.

Speaker is set up correctly but no beeps. In order to connect to the onboard video i need to use a VGA cord but that led is telling me there is something wrong with my vga?

I hooked up the brand new power supply and it failed, still have the same problem. Guess I'll send it back and get a new motherboard. :C

    Good work.

Poor man's ESD workspace - lay a sheet of aluminum foil on your work surface.

I didn't really think this was going to work as soon as I put it together but I'm stuck in this Start up repair loop.
After the "Start up cannot repair this computer automatically" window I closed it and opened the cmdPrompt
and tried fixmbr and fixboot....Nothing. Is there anyway to fix this without the dreaded reformat?

Monitor can't find my desktop anymore.
