Microsoft Office 2003 Sku011.cab error

    When I went to open microsoft word 2003 today i got the sku011.cab could not be found. I cannot open Word now.
    I tried this:
    In start / execute : Regedit
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE -> Software -> Microsoft -> Office -> 11.0 -> Delivery
    You should have this key 90000409-6000-11D3-8CFE-0150048383C9
    click on it and (at the right of your screen), right click on CDCache key.
    and type 0 as new value

    But i do not have that key
    please let me know what to do, I am seriously in need of word asap!

    No I have not But I am in the last step of that right now, only which option do I choose?
    Run from My computer, Run All From My computer, Installed on First Use, or Not Available?

    Is this a retail version with a product key or did it come with the machine? You could try uninstalling and reinstalling

    it came with it, and i dont know where the disk is. In addition, it keeps trying to reinstall itself but i keep getting that error

    i really dont understand, this just start happening out of nowhere today. I used it last week and it wasfine. I never do any updates because i know a lot of them are corrupt. I also do not vary from the sites on the internet that i always visit, and have for years. I know they are good and secure. Now that I think about it,something weird has started to happen with my google when i try to search something. I have to click on the link 5 or 6 times before it gets me there. It keeps redirecting me to all these add sites.I am not sure if 1 problem has to do with another but they started around the same time.

    I doubt the problems are related but it does sound like you have a malware infection. Can you review the Prework link in my signature and then start a new thread for that in our Malware Removal forums?
