Sorry in advance if I'm bringing the tone of this PC forum down by asking about a game, and a FPS at that (the 2010 online/multiplayer version of MOH), but I'm really out of ideas and feel so frustrated. Why else would I be posting at 3.45 a.m.?!! I used to play the said-game to relax in the evenings but, for as long as I can remember now, it crashes after about 20 mins of game-play, leaving me with a black screen. Tons of MOH-specific forum pages later, I still am in the dark, literally! What happens: the games runs super smoothly for 15, 20 or 25 mins; then suddenly my monitor goes black - it says 'No Signal' and I'm forced to power off my PC, manually. The PC temperature seems ok, my drivers are up-to-date, no conflicts either, and I have no other PC probs of note. I've changed a few settings back and forth (open “settings.ini”and change “DxVersion” from “auto” to “9″ - a common fix apparently, for example), and have minimal background programmes running in the background. I've also just completely removed remnants of an aggressive AV package but, again, in vain. Can the esteemed members of this community please, please advise me on how to fix MOH, so it's actually playable, like it once used to be (on my Windows 7 OS)!? Be forever grateful! Putting away the violin (and revolver), s_f
Hey there, all problems are welcome, gaming related or not, there is actually a gaming category on this forum haha A few things first: Could be the RAM, but generally with black screens it is more of a GPU driver issue or overheating issue, I gather MOH was working for you at one stage. Game updates can cause this, sometimes they fix things, but break other things for some users, you can try install an older version of your graphics card driver (if you have updated recently, which means the past couple of months or so) You could also try update your Direct X files, perhaps if your computer has been sitting around for a while, it might need a dusting or similar, these are generally the issues that cause your issue, if it were the RAM, it would most likely mean it's gone bad. I hope to hear a reply soon! Warm Regards
Hi Ex()rcizm, I became so cheesed off with this prob that I stopped playing. But tonight I couldn't resist a bit of fragging and - guess what, after about half hr it happened again! Before I find the time to take out the RAM (not sure how to do this or what I'm meant to do once it's out!); does the following Crash Report shed any light? Happens with CouterStrike too - 25 mins or so play then 'No Signal' on the screen and have to power off. Anyone?!
