As title says, my laptop is unable to detect my graphics card, this happened after i attempted to reformat my computer and failed. I had to reinstall windows booting from the windows CD.

Any help would be appreciated as the current resolution is horrible and I am currently unable to game or anything...

    Welcome to PCHF,
Your graphics card is detected. You just don't have the right drivers. If you have installed the same version of Windows the laptop originally came with, you should get the drivers on the manufacturer's website.

    Ah... That might explain it.
My laptop used to run on Windows 7 Home Premium, however when i attempted to reformat my C:\ drive, it stopped halfway and failed. I had to borrow my mate's Windows 7 Ultimate CD and install that to get the computer to at least boot up.

    What should I do now?

Did you get recovery discs with the laptop? In-case of a re-install?

Unless you have them, or a fresh copy of Windows 7, you wouldn't be able to install. You will be able to use your friend's copy for 30 days without activating, but that's about it.

In short, yes, also you can ask the laptop manufacturer if they can provide recovery discs. I'd use the ones that came with the laptop rather than spending on a new copy.
