Of late my laptop (an IBM Thinkpad with 1500 mb processor and 512 mb memory) has started freezing sometimes. It happens especially when I have been watching a long video (20-30 minutes length). When the program ends, I click the back button or any button for that matter, nothing happens. The screen remains frozen on the same page. Only after about 3-5 minutes, some activity start to appear and the page goes back. Why does this happen and how can I fix the problem? Please take note that it does not happen if my viewing does not involve video clips or movie clips. I have the latest Adobe Flashplayer and Shockwave Player. I run Google Chrome and Mozilla Firefox alternatively. Google Chrome flashes a pop up window stating "the application is unresponsive--kill the page or wait".
Firefox says something about "some scripts trying to run...stop it or let it finsih". What exactly could be the problem?
