Sorry if this is posted in the wrong section

I have a major problem,my little sister knocked over a glass of juice straight onto my laptop, and it won't turn on at all,now this maybe a daft question but is it broken completely or do i need to just replace a few things, would spilling something directly onto it completely damage the laptop for good??

    Please help if ya can..

Hello Gaz, and welcome to the forum

Im afraid sis may have "fixed" the laptop for you, but maybe you1ll get lucky. First, DO NOT try to turn it on again, till its cleaned up and dried out. If this ever happens again to other equipment, dont turn it on till you get it dry and clean. If you feel up to it, i would take it apart, clean the juice out dry it good and hope for the best. Most juices are pretty conductive( the acid in them ) , but even plain water aint good to get on a circuit board. Give the make and model of your laptop, and someone should be able to give you info on taking it apart and getting it back together.

was the laptop on when the spill happend? when you pulled the laptop a part did you clean it with water and dishwashing liquid you would need to do that and lett it dry out of a few day may work. Or put all the bits put them in your dishwasher to clean them let it dry out for a few days. leave the keyboard unpluged it proberbly coped most of the juice. the hole thing won't be wrecked at worst you might need some parts. Duz it have an extended warranty sometimes they cover acidentall damamge?

Unfortunately from the sounds of it - the laptop is dead...i'd suggest taking it to an authorised repairer and seeign if they can discover if it's one thing...or multiple things to repair.

You should be good to get the data off the hard drive still..but the laptop doesn't look so good.
