I have recently moved to a new flat and cannot seem to get the Wifi connection to work on my laptop. I have tried all the fixes I can see online but none of them work.
    - The connection works fine if I use the cable from the back of the router
    - Other people's laptops can use the connection without a problem
    - I am able to connect to other Wifi's, but just not the one set up in my flat.
    - I am using a Toshiba laptop with Windows Vista
    - I have tried all sorts of things including blocking the firewall, changing the DNS setting etc.

I have been told it may be something to do with the DNS. Is anybody able to shed some light on what might be causing this and how I might be able to be fixed?

To add to this, every so often when I have the wired connection, it goes down and comes up with the same error message, but then fixes itself after a short while. Not sure if this helps anyone clear up what might be the problem.

Any help will be gratefully appreciated ?

Which is your network there are a lo tof station around you which wil lkill your signal

You have a lot of things running at startup which will slow the pc down.
stop Bonjour Service and set it to disabled
these instructions and get rid of all the tunnels and 64 adapters and all but one of the network connections. Then disable ipv6 as its that giving you all the tunnels. See how we go with that
    -----------------------------------------------------------------------
To repair and reset the Windows Vista and windows 7 internet
    Click on Start button.
Type Cmd in the Start Search text box.
Press Ctrl-Shift-Enter keyboard shortcut to run Command Prompt as Administrator. Allow elevation request.
Type netsh winsock reset in the Command Prompt shell, and then press the Enter key.
Type netsh int ip reset c:\resetlog.txt
    Restart the computer.
We need to get rid of the tunnel adapters as they fill the buffer and often stop the internet working.
Click Start, type cmd in the Start Search box, right click the cmd.exe, and then click Run as Administrator. 2. In the Command
Prompt, type netsh int isa set state disabled, and press Enter.
    Click Start, then Control Panel.

If you have a lot to remove use this below if you only have a few then the action above will work
Download the file from The DevCon command-line utility functions as an alternative to Device Manager for 64bit o/s http://ryanvictory.com/downloads/devcon-64.zip
Run the program and extract the files somewhere you will remember,
Open a cmd window then type
devcon remove *6to4mp Devoncon must be in the folder you are typing in or in the path

    set the dns to 208.67.220.220 & 208.67.222.222
remove ipv6 as its not used

Hi, I have done most of the above. The only part I could not do was disable the "6to4" Adapter, it wasn't an option on the device manager. I believe I was able to stop using the ipv6.

Unfortunately the internet WiFi still doesnt work, the one I am trying to connect to is called Mr and Mrs Kiss.

As before I ran the wireless test and below are the new results. Again any help would be gratefully appreciated.

Your network seems ok as it gets the right ip etc so its down to something stopping it. So its a matter of working through to find it favourite will be Norton you have running at startup
    Symantec PIF AlertEng REG_SZ "C:\Program Files\Common Files\Symantec Shared\PIF\{B8E1DD85-8582-4c61-B58F-2F227FCA9A08}\PIFSvc.exe" /a /m "C:\Program Files\Common Files\Symantec Shared\PIF\{B8E1DD85-8582-4c61-B58F-2F227FCA9A08}\AlertEng.dll"
It can be hard to remove use uninstall to remove it then google norton removal tool for what ever product you had and run that.
If it still fails then remove all avg stopping it doesnt work(you can put it back after simply)
    stop Windows Defender REG_EXPAND_SZ %ProgramFiles%\Windows Defender\MSASCui.exe -hide
RtHDVCpl REG_SZ RtHDVCpl.exe from running with msconfig
