    Hi guys,
Yesterday I opened a new threat about a software review and then made a simple youtube video corresponding to it. The feedback has been somehow positive and rather encouraging.

I decided to make another software review on how to speed up your computer and free up some disk space all using a slick, easy and free application. I hope you enjoy this post and feel free to leave me a comment telling me how much I suck (lol).
You can watch this video here: How to speed up your computer for free

You can get the software from here.
Let me know if you have any questions.
    Cheers,
    Sam

He means, is this really going to do what it advertises, or is it just "smoke and mirrors"...false promises.

You use it to good effect, right?

thanks for that Hengis. I'm happy to re-do the video in a couple of day when I have a messier system to demonstrate the power of this application better. There is no reason for me to be trying to convince people that this is a great software and that they should get it, simply because I'm not benefiting from it in any way.

I'm just trying to share my personal experience with other members of this forum. I learned a new phrase though (LOL).

    Cheers,
    Sam

I agree with you about the forced toolbar installation. However that is no longer visible in the current version of the software. I guess there is good and bad in every piece of software written.

Cobracon: Thanks for the respond, I'm somewhat a skeptic myself so I can relate to what you are saying. interesting reading. Cheers.

Hi all. Just noticed this thread is about speeding up pc's and the poster wants to spread info about it...I haven't tried the software he recommends ( I'm sure its great ) but another good one is Ccleaner from piriform ( obviously only download from their site or somewhere reputable(?) like Cnet ) . I've speeded up several old pc's that are clogged up with temp files, loads of startup entries and a registry that needs cleaning unbeknownst to the user. It works (don't know how it compares to iobit ), its free , and I am not connected to the company that makes it.
....I just read the link http://antivirus.about.com/od/antivirussoftwarereviews/a/iobittrustingantivirus.htm and cancelled the iobit download. Apart from taking other companies virus definitions ( in theory, sharing definition info would be a good thing but I suppose there are better ways of going about it ) and exaggerating a review, iobit are based in China. China has something of a reputation ..including, on at least one occasion, diverting a huge chunk of the worlds internet traffic through their territory by presumably illegal means...and blocking free internet access for their citizens. I'll stick to Ccleaner.

    Hi route-err,

Thanks for your response to this forum and software recommendation. I be sure to install CCleaner soon and give a test drive. I might even put them head to head and see how they compete, just for the heck of it.:D

I'm not sure if I have mentioned that I'm not connected to IoBits. This reviews are kind of the round up of the cool applications I have used. So I'm not being offered anything from the companies. Personally I don't get political about where the software come from and who makes it, as long as it is not going to be putting my computer in danger and collecting my personal information of my computer I be more than happy to use it. The reputation of the company might be questionable but I personally don't see anything wrong with the current version of the software.

The point of the software is to carry out certain tasks and if it does a good job doing those tasks and doesn't raise any privacy concerns, I cannot see any other points to criticize a software upon, and please correct me if I'm wrong.

    Cheers,
    Sam Matrouh

Hello Sam. yes I agree that if software does its job then politics doesn't come into it..and to reject something entirely because of the country it comes from would be well...racist, and I did think about that when I replied to your post...but most people including myself have no way of knowing to what degree software can be trusted apart from the reputation of the company that makes it.
If a company has been shown to make misleading claims in its publicity and has been caught taking virus definitions from other companies (perhaps they all do it, or are careful enough not to be caught) then trust is called into question and I'll tend to steer clear. Maybe iobit should defend itself against such claims.
Anyway Sam, thanks for your reply and I hope it works out ok.
    cheers!

LOL, my god... I had no idea. I seriously thought this is how it is spelled.:D Thanks for pointing it out though.

When it comes to softwares I may be a little too trusting at times and I know it is not the best way to be but that's just me. I can respect what everybody is saying in this forum about iobits, but personally will keep using it because "it just works" - now who does that remind you of?-

I had the chance to finally use ccleaner and it does an amazing job. Still haven't had the chance to really dig into it. Out of the box it comes with less features than Advanced system Care but I believe we can get plug-ins for it (not too sure about that though). Hopefully do a review of that soon.

Thanks for being so cool guys,:)
