    How To Disable Your Security Applications.

    ====================================================



    This tutorial will describe how to disable your anti-virus applications that will conflict with the running of our programs. Just click on the name of your program to be brought to the associated post.

    Just type Ctrl+F and type in the name of your anti-virus product. If it is in the list it will be highlighted and you can click on it to get the instructions

    Disable Ad-Watch:

    • Right-click on the Ad-Watch icon in the system tray
    • Select "Restore Ad-Watch"
    • At the bottom of the screen you will see 2 options -- Active and Automatic.
    • Uncheck both options (red X).
    • Since you will likely be doing several shutdown/restarts, under Tools & Preferences > Options > Activity > Deselect "Load Ad-Watch
    • at Windows startup"
    • Note: When Ad-Watch is re-enabled, it is vital that you accept any changes that may be alerted by Ad-Watch.

    Disable AdWatch (Versions 2007 onwards)

    Right click on the Ad-Watch icon in the system tray.
    Select Goto Settings.
    Click on Status on the left.
    On your right hand side, click once on each of the section to turn the green tick into a red cross.
    Click on RegShield on the left.
    On your right hand side, click once on each of the section to turn the green tick into a red cross.
    Click on Settings on the left.
    Click once on Load Ad-Watch at startup to turn the green tick into a red cross.
    Minimize Ad-Watch.
    Right click on the Ad-Watch icon again and select Close Ad-Watch.
    You will be prompted if you want to shut down Ad-Watch. Click Yes.
    Restart your computer for the changes to take effect.

    Start Ad-Aware
    Click the Ad-Watch tab
    Click the Settings button
    Ensure all highlighted options bellow are unchecked:
    Under the General tab
    Processes Protection
    OK your way out, and close the main Ad-Aware window.
    Shut down Ad-Aware and Ad-Watch Live! by right clicking on the system tray icon, and selecting Exit Ad-Aware.
    OK the change.

    Start Ad-Aware
    Click the Ad-Watch tab
    Click the Settings button
    Ensure all highlighted options bellow are unchecked:
    Under the General tab
    Processes Protection
    Registry Protection
    Network Protection
    Under the Detection Layers tab:
    Spyware heuristics
    AntiVirus engine
    OK your way out, and close the main Ad-Aware window.
    Shut down Ad-Aware and Ad-Watch Live! by right clicking on the system tray icon, and selecting Exit Ad-Aware.
    OK the change.

    Disable A-Squared Anti-Malware (Versions 4.0 and above)

    Right click on a-squared Anti-Malware icon near the clock (it's a square with the number 2 on it) and select Security Center.
    Under Background Guard, click once on disable next to OnExecution Scan enabled to disable it. It should now show OnExecution Scan
    disabled.
    Click once on disable next to Malware-IDS enabled to disable it. It should now show Malware-IDS disabled.
    Select Configuration on the left.
    Select the General Settings tab. Under Background Guard settings, uncheck (untick) Enable background guard on system start box.
    Close a-squared Anti-Malware.
    Right click on a-squared Anti-Malware icon again and select Exit Background Guard.
    You will be prompted to enter in a code. Enter in the code and click OK.

    Disable A-Squared Anti-Malware (versions prior to 4.0)


    Click on Start > All Programs > a-squared Anti-Malware > a-squared Anti-Malware.
    On the left, click on Security Status.
    Under Background Guard, click once on enable next to OnExecution Scan disabled to enable it. It should now show OnExecution Scan
    enabled.
    Click once on enable next to Malware-IDS enabled to enable it. It should now show Malware-IDS disabled.
    On the left, click on Background Guard.
    Select the Background Guard Settings tab.
    Check (tick) Enable background guard on system startup box.
    Select the Malware-IDS tab.
    Click on the Select all button.
    Close a-squared Anti-Malware.

    Disable Avast

    Right Click on the Avast icon in the system tray
    Click on Program Settings...
    Click on Troubleshooting
    Place a tick next to Disable avast! self-defense module
    Click OK
    At the prompt that appears, click Yes
    Right Click on the Avast icon in the system tray and click Stop On-Access protection
    At the prompt that appears, click Yes

    Please open the AVG7 Control Center.
    Double-click on the "AVG Resident Shield" component.
    Deselect the "Turn on AVG Resident Shield" checkmark and save the setting.
    When you need to enable the AVG Resident Shield, reopen the AVG Control Center.
    Double-click on the "AVG Resident Shield" component, select the "Turn on AVG Resident Shield" checkmark and save the setting.

    Please open the AVG 8 Control Center, by right clicking on the AVG 8 icon on task bar.
    Click on Tools.
    Select Advanced.
    In the left hand pane, scroll down to "Resident Shield".
    In the main pane, deselect the option to "Enable Resident Shield."
    To re-enable AVG 8, please select "Enable Resident Shield" again.

    Please open the AVG 8.5 Control Center, by right clicking on the AVG icon on task bar.
    Click on Open AVG Interface.
    Double click on Resident Shield
    Deselect the option to "Enable Resident Shield."
    Save changes, and exit the application.
    To re-enable AVG 8.5, please select "Enable Resident Shield" again.

    Resident Shield:
    Open AVG User Interface.
    Double-click on the Resident Shield.
    Un-tick the option Resident Shield active.
    Save the changes.

    Reverse to re-enable.

    Please open the AVG 2011 Control Center, by right clicking on the AVG icon on task bar.
    Click on Open AVG User Interface.
    On the Menu Bar, click on Tools
    Click Advanced Settings
    In the new screen which opens, scroll down to Temporarily disable AVG protection. Click on it to highlight it.
    In the right hand pane, tick the box for Temporarily disable AVG protection
    Click Apply
    In the next screen which opens, select 15 minutes from the drop down menu, then click the Disable real time protection button.
    Click OK

    Avira Anti-Vir

    Please navigate to the system tray on the bottom right hand corner and look for an open white umbrella on red background.
    right click it-> untick the option AntiVir Guard enable.
    You should now see a closed, white umbrella on a red background.
    You successfully disabled the AntiVir Guard.

    BitDefender

    Double click on the system icon for Bit Defender.
    On the left panel click >> Virus Shield.
    Click on the black check marke next to Virus Shield is enabled.
    The black works will change to red >> Virus Shield is disabled.
    Move mouse arrow to the top right corner and click the down arrows.
    Bit Defender is now inactive.
