    Hello gunther, welcome to PCHF.

Are you talking about the c:\documents and settings folder? If so, your also talking about moving critical system files and settings related to your profile that you logon to your PC with. You cannot just simply move this folder to another drive.

As for your documents, pictures and such, it would just be a simple matter of right clicking on what you would like to move, go to Edit followed by Cut. Open up drive D in My Computer, and go to Edit followed by Paste.

thanks madmonkey, it would be a great help. . . I still have a question, I partitioned my harddisk using disk management pre-installed in vista and the minimum size I can shrink drive C: is about 70GB, how can I shrink it to 50GB? ive tried to use partition magic and it's not compatible with vista. . . by the way what is the ideal size for drive C: I'll be installing AutoCAD and some 3D games. . . thanks in advance and more power to PCHF. . .

Hi gunther :) just a quick question are you storing your data on the D partion as some sort of backup or are you just keeping Documents and pictures ect seperate? Also 50Gb is not a lot of space for your windows autaocad and games.
