    Hi all, I'm new here..

Every time I try to install iTunes, I get so far, then when it gets to the "Status: Publishing product information", I get hit with a nasty error message reading the following:

An error occurred during the installation of assembly 'Microsoft.VC80.CRT,version="8.0.50727.4053",type="win32",publicKeyToken='1fc8b3b9a1e18e3b",processorarchitecture="x86". Please refer to Help and Support for more information. HRESULT:0x800736FD."

I rang Apple to see if they could help but of course I'm on a pc and they don't want to know about it..

I've tried anything I can find but no luck, please can someone help me I am desperate!

    Thanks in advnce

One of the posts on the link reads:

    Install the following
"Microsoft Visual C++ 2005 Service Pack 1 Redistributable Package ATL Security Update"
    from
    http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?familyid=766a6af7-ec73-40ff-b072-9112bab119c2&displaylang=en#filelist

When I go on that link, which download is it.. There is the choice of the following:

    vcredist_IA64.exe
    vcredist_x64.exe
    vcredist_x86.exe

Error 1804. An installtion for apple application support is currently suspended. You must undo the changes made by that installation to continue. Do you want to undo those changes? Yes or No?
