I'm sure you've heard this one before....

I'm an administrator (The only user for that matter) for my computer. I've already googled to see if I can find this answer, and have found no results. I've already deleted the Ask Toolbar from my computer (even though it still appears in my FireFox browser). However, when I go to delete the Ask Toolbar Updater, It shows the message, "You do not have sufficient access to uninstall Ask Toolbar Updater. Please contact your system administrator."

I tried using a free toolbar remover, but it doesn't show up in the list of toolbars I can remove.

Also, when I search for "C:/Program Files/Ask" Or whatever, it's nonexistent. If someone could pleeeease help me with this, it would be much appreciated. (Very irritated because I know better than to put this junk on my computer and it was caused by other computer-illiterate people).

    Hi,
Download advanced systemcare, in installation don´t install this toolbar. :D
This program has good uninstallation program (and he can uninstall toolbars), and has good registry fix.
If you have firefox, there we can uninstall toolbars.

    Thanks Hengis,
I've tried to get rid of Ask.com with no luck.
Done in 5 minutes with 'revoinstaller'
    Enjoy your day.

    Hi Hengis,
I used revo uninstaller as I mentioned in a previous post to get rid of Ask.com - it worked fine. Then a day or so later it was back in my programs. Ask.com is real malware - it had somehow infected my restore points. To get rid of it totally I have had to reboot from disc.
    Thanks for advice.
    Cheers, RudyB.

Hi. So are you saying that you are still having a problem with this and you believe it to be malware effecting your machine? If so, the best course of action would be to start a new thread in the "Am I Infected?" forum.
