    Hi,

I opened Crystal Disk info and it gives me warning on reallocated sectors. Do i need to replace the hdd ASAP or what should be done ? I read about reallocated sectors and the only solution is to replace the hdd if so what is a good free program that will transfer everything on my current hdd to the new one with the OS so that I don't have to backup my data and then install the OS separately ? Thank you guys

There are lots of software to clone the drive and if you buy a new drive the makers normally give Acronis away free on their site so you can do this. There may be very little wrong with the drive there is software that will low level format the drive and re energize the hd. Some sectors can be marked bad by windows and its just windows the disk its self is ok

Thanks Samuria for your reply. So you reckon that the drive is OK and i don't need to replace it? I'm worried that the drive will die soon from what i read about reallocated sectors.

My other question is , does disk cloning really do the job or is it better to copy the data i need and then just replace the drive and install the new drive with Windows Seven ?

Found something new this time, diskcheckup from passmark and defraggler shows that the health status of the drive is GOOD. Now i think that Crystal Disk Info maybe got a bug with it.

Disk cloning will give an exact copy and is very good. If you have any doubts about the drive go onto the makers website most have test utils for free that are written just for their drives and they will be spot on as opposed to a generic one
