As I mentioned a while ago Virgin is set to double their broadband speed to customers for absolutely no charge. Read more here.... http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/technology-16491614 I love this absurd comment from BT.
I've told you how much I hate you before, haven't I Wolfey? <--- Stuck on (very) provincial BT broadband.
It's a disgrace - the UK is light years behind the rest of the civilized World, in terms of (at least) broadband.
You're right Sam, I'll be watching that mate. An extract from the itinerary... I bet Virgin is not mentioned unless it's their ADSL arm.
Your more advanced with broadband speeds than Australia. The NBN will be rolling fibre out here in the Bundaberg / Wide Bay area next year some time. Then it will be a sweaty wait to see how much the ISP's will rip the customers off here for the privilege of faster speeds My ADSL2+ speed is good enough for me at what I connect at. I can stream videos from my MeTV with no problems. Normal downloads are as fast as I need at 1.3 MB's per second. I have no lag or echo with my VOIP phone service. In fact I'm a happy little Vegemite...
Yeah NBN is a bit of a rip off i live in Canberra and my current isp (transact) said it would be $70 a month for 100GB (50GB on-peak + 50GB off-peak) plus a $400 installation fee.
Compare the prices we get here... http://store.virginmedia.com/broadband/compare-broadband/index.html By the way all the MB packages come with unlimited downloads subject to Fair Usage and I've downloaded a serious amount of stuff in a month before today and never had a problem. My current 30MB averages out on Speedtest to 31.75MB
