Hello PCHelpForum. For the the past months some bsods are killing the joy of playing on my new pc, they all occur after around 4-8 hours of gaming. I did around 4 os installs with proper drivers and I just can`t get rid of it and all are caused by the driver dxgmms1.sys.

I tryed different versions of video drivers, new bios for my motherboard, 4passes in memtest86+ with no errors, firmly placed my hardware in their place twice. Also all components have normal temps.

    System Specs:
    • Mobo: Asrock 970 Extreme3
    • CPU: Phenom x4 Phenom 965 BE
    • GPU: Gigabyte HD 6870 windforce
    • RAM: Patriot 4gb 1333mhz (1 stick)
    • HDD: WD Cavier Blue 500gb Sata3, 16mb
    • PSU: Seasonic S12II-520w Bronze
    • Case: HAF XM

Today I made a new os install and I was very careful with what drivers and software I installed and after a few hours I got a bsod.
What could be the problem? Some friends are saying it might be the video card or the motherboard.

I am certain its not the video card driver. Today I made a fresh OS install (win7 ultimate 64bit, 5th install in 4months and no luck) and I properly installed my drivers. That bsod occured after 4 hours of light gaming+skype.
    What I did:
    1. Windows Install
    2. Motherboard drivers
    3. Let Windows update
    4. Video card drivers
    5. A few programs

I used the PCHF tool. Is something wrong?

Yes I did between step 3 and 4 but windows already had a up-to-date directx so it didn`t install anything.
I`m sorry I can`t remember which I took, is that the right one? If so I`ll make another one.

Alright, let's run some standard tests.

    That wouldn't be necessary.

    Run checkdisk.

Click on start -> Type in cmd.exe -> Hold down ctrl + shift and hit enter.
Click on 'Yes' at the prompt

    Type in

Let's run a system files check.

Click on start -> Type in cmd.exe -> Hold down ctrl + shift and hit enter.

    Type in

(Notice there is a space after the forward slash and SCANNOW is all caps)

Let it verify and repair any files that it finds.

Please download the latest version of CPU-Z from here:

    http://www.filehippo.com/download_cpuz/

Open up CPU-Z. Click on the 'About' tab. Under tools section, click on 'Save Report (.TXT)'.

This will save a text file on your machine. Upload the text file in your next post.

After all that, you will need to run Memtest86+

I just did the Disk Check and System Files Check, here is a screen with the results: Result Image

I already did a memtest86+ run for around 5hours and it finished 4 passes with no errors.

And here is the CPU-Z Report.

Re-run the SFC command using this syntax
(Space between sfc and forward slash)

    Hello.

I see this is still tagged as "new", I don't want to step any toes. The PCHF tool you used is made by me, it's one of the latest versions.

As for your problem, download this http://www.ozone3d.net/benchmarks/fur/ run the burn in test for about 10 minutes and then create a shortcut for us.

It would be very favorable if you could produce more memory dumps, one is not much to work with.

    Salut mkey82!

I don`t know what you meant by shortcut but I ran it for 30m and here is a screen with the result: Furmark (my room temperature is around 30 degree Celsius)

I do have 2 other memory dumps but these are the ones that I got with the old OS in weekend and at the beginning of this week. There I had a 12.7beta ati video driver and nod32 as antivirus and my hdd was quite full. Now I have 12.6 and Windows Security Essentials + I formatted my whole hdd. And now still as then I get bsods caused by the driver dxgmms1.sys .

I meant screenshot, but you caught on that correctly. Post some more memory dumps when you get more crashes.

You're welcome. Forgot to mention above that those temperatures are perfectly fine so it's not an GPU overheating problem.
