Nothing major here, but wondering if there are any known fixes.

Firefox 4.0.1 randomly flickers. It usually happens when navigating to a new page. It never shuts down, but it is an annoying effect.

The second issue is that when I open my bookmark menu, and it covers part or all of the "Windows Explorer" ribbon at the bottom of the screen, it remains sort of a whited out area on the Windows Explorer ribbon after I'm done with the bookmarks. The only way to get rid of it is to click in the lower right corner to minimize all windows and go to the desktop. Again, nothing major, but an annoyance none the less and something I'd like to solve if there is an answer.

I know if you have a lot of memory, Firefox caches a lot. Then if you have additional plugin/extensions even more so. You can allow a certain amount of memory to Firefox might help. Mine ramps up a bit as well, but any browser should remain lightweight.

    Thanks for the responses, guys.

I've seen the issue discussed on Mozilla's boards, but no one seems to have a direct answer. This flickering issue is only present in Firefox 4, and wasn't anywhere to be seen in 3.6 (I believe that was the last 3. version). That it happens both on my laptop as well as my father-in-law's desktop tells me that it is more than just a one off issue.

    vger,

Yes, I tried the Memory Fox add-on, but it has not stopped the flickering.

Does your monitor has a refresh rate setting? (50Hz, 60Hz)
If yes, try changing that to any of the allowed values.
