I have Facebook and everyone tells me one the Bottum Right hand side you will see the words Onlin Friends and when you click it you will see a list of people you can iM. I never see it I do not know if I have to turn the feature on or if I am missing it?
I go to the Bottom right of the Facebook screen but it just goes and goes and goes and all I see is people I know and Ads and this and that and it never ends?
Might be your computer, if not, then your browser. My Ubuntu 12.04 With Firefox 13.0.1 wasn't able to use the feature, until an update from Yesterday came up. While some browsers are unsupported for that feature. This really nice Vista a church family gave me a few months but it used Internet Explorer 7, so it was unsupported by the chat bar on the bottom right corner, though it used the chat feature of the left middle side of the home page. Though All I can say of the chat system is uses the Latest Internet Explorer 9(it works), or Latest FireFox 13.0.1(It works), or Google Chrome(I don't know, I never tried, but it is most compatible with most everything on the web). For a little more help, please see Facebooks help center on chat https://www.facebook.com/help/chat/how-to-chat (Link of basics on chat).
@ biferi I suppose the answer to my earlier question is 'no'. The item I pointed at is not exactly a toolbar. Also, it does not move as I scroll down the page. One oddity - in all of the Facebook "Help" pages/articles I have read, not a single one of them accurately describes the chat tool I am using (as shown on my image above). I see the chat tool in all browsers and operating systems that I have tested. What version of Windows are you using? What browser? Will you provide a screenshot of your Facebook page?
After reviewing one of your other threads (re: oovoo), I am wondering if you have a configuration problem related to IM in general. Facebook does have a chat client similar to Yahoo Messenger, Live Messenger, etc. See https://www.facebook.com/about/messenger/ Perhaps, if you install this client, it will 'self-correct' the browser issue. Just guessing.
Have you tried full-screening the Browser? That might solve it, because sometimes I encounter having no Chat Toolbar and all I do is minimize and then maximize to get it back. Hope this helps.
Just saying - all manner of resizing keeps the control front and center on my install. Here is one from a customer's PC, Windows 7.
I have a 38 inch widescreen LCD Monitor and it is Max. I did find Chat but it is not the Words Chat. If I go all the way down the Left side I see a list of my Friends and if I let the mouse sit on a Photo the window opens for Chat. Now I did find an APP. called Google Talk and the Net says it does Video Chat for facebook. But the Market does not have it But I did find TinyChat for video Chat on facebook. Do you know if this is good or anything?
Tiny Chat. I tried it, but the screens are small for video chatting, while you sacrifice a little quality with it, but it is pretty good.
