So, it'll come down to two candidates for a particular job. One that will provide login details for their social networking "past" and one that won't. I can imagine how that'll play out...

Im sorry I would have to delete my FaceBook or make a second one for my employers to read.......

I write utter twoddle on my FB.....

If the rubbish is in my head it goes on FB.

If her at number 18 does rude things with her curtains open it goes on FB.

If I spam my own FB with silly quotes and jokes I will.

I am also afraid I would moan about my boss....

So now an employer can't enter your derrière with a microscope but Facebook still can.

As has been mentioned...that's rich.

Some Companies have been trying to dictate to the workers how they need to act when away from the work place. This has been going on for years around here. Then they could kiss my a$$ then and the still can with this FB suggested requirement...NON OF THERE BUSINESS...what i do away from work..I see FB going the way of My Space if this keeps up..

When I first heard about this, I was dumbfounded. I get that your potential employer wants to make sure he/she knows who they're hiring, but this is a clear violation of privacy, and thankfully, is illegal. If a company actually requests your password, and you give it to them under the assumption you have to for a job, they can be sued.

I would tell them to shove the job up their *** before I handed over my personal info.

The economic situation, unfortunately, forces desperate people into making choices that they would otherwise not have made - it's exploitative.
