Hellloooo. so to start off i recently installed a new graphic card into my computer (Radeon HD 7750). When i attempted to install drivers the program would crash constantly. i would get "catalyst control center: host application not responding" and "load MMdriver not responding". i used driver sweeper to wipe both the new and old drivers and it didn't help. i just ran driver sweeper in safe mode and am going to try again. But i doubt that it will work. There are a lot of threads out there with people with similar problems but so far no luck.

    i have windows 7/vista 64bit.

    Welcome to PCHF,
That's the control center crashing, not the driver. If you don't have any issues besides that error message, the driver works just fine. Uninstall the control center and install just the driver.

Hi! Thanks, and thanks for your answer.

Well that happens every time I install the latest "drivers" from AMD's homepage. Have tried 11.7, 12.3 and 12.4 and all of them throw the same error. (and this happens right away after the installation..)
The computer is pretty much unusable while CCC is installed because it doesnt stop spamming that error.. I dont know what to do, and I still cant start any games.. Running the computer at the moment without ANY drivers for the card..

I'll try to remove catalyst and see what happens. But I'm worried I still wont be able to start a game..

well happy to report that after some tweaking the control center doesn't crash the second i start up the computer but rather a lil while later. however even without it crashing i cannot run many programs/games. Even Skype crashes. You were saying to install drivers without CCC...how do i do this..when i go to their site to install the drivers it forces me to install CCC along with it. if i just uninstall (don't know if it takes the drivers with it) CCC i get a DirectX error for many games though i have directx 10..one says i need Directx SDK and the other says just DirectX..

update: im getting alot of issues with flash also now crashing which of course causes my browser to crash here and there

Yes, you need to install DirectX from here: http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=35

Games shouldn't require the SDK though.

Flash is a different issue. Try unchecking the hardware acceleration option when you right click -> Properties(or some menu option) on any flash content.

I shall try doing that aswell.
Just remembered that I did a fresh install of vista a few months ago... Could be a good idea to update everything eh? Realised I didnt have the latest servicepack for vista yesterday...

UPDATE: i installed the drivers without CCC but everything still crashes. And i have the latest version of DirectX assuming that its 10. and i updated vista to the latest service pack though i left some updates out i installed all of the important one. I'm starting to believe it has something to do with driver verson. Don't know which i should even have. but something is rather wrong if i can run the computer better without drivers than with them

There's no downgrade here, you need DX9 for most games to run. Along with DX11 if your operating system supports it.

    It shall be done!!

And as I said, games started working after SDK was installed, so I guess thats a good sign (just barely running)
Im running windows vista home premium 64-bit.
Its a bit weird that the "windows experience index" or what ever its called rates my card at 1.0 though..

Dxdiag says i have no graphicscard what so ever. Very weird, and getting annoying.. Mailed AMD today, will see what they can do..
