I just noticed that my Outlook 2007 pst file is in the old 97-2002 format. I guess that's because it was just copied over when we upgraded several years ago.



Is there a fairly easy way to convert it to the newer format? I'm assuming the new format is more reliable, right?

Two ways occurred to me:

1. Export everything to the new pst.
2. Create the new pst, make it the default, then import the old one.

Is one safer or better?

Are there any details I need to make sure to do (or not do) or any caveats?

2007 (and later) support Unicode and are more stable with unreasonable PST file sizes.
