    Hi
Last month i got a new router which was installed by a virgin man. Since then i keep having issues with connectivity. Sometimes the signal just disconnects and then says limited access and then other times i cant find the network at all on the wireless and it also won't connect automatically when i start up my computer. My isp is virgin also.
Sometimes it just flicks between these 2 boxes ^^^ and i can't click anything in them boxes because they next second all the networks disappear.

    Some things to try -
Your wireless NIC can use g or b only. Your router is using 802.11n. Log into your router and try changing the wireless settings to G.
Change the channel .. try 11.
Change encryption .. try no encryption for testing purposes.

If using Windows to manage wireless connection, try a third-party app.
Use only one wireless software - link

thanks ill try it soon. I also checked on the virgin forum (my isp) and they said that " Your Downstream power level is to high at 12.2dBmV and requires an engineer to adjust it".
If this is so then it wouldn't make the surrounding connections in my area to disappear would it?

    dubstep .. nice one.
Can you have a look in Device Manager, expand network adaptors and double-click wireless adapter. Does it state everything ok, what is your driver version?
You're running Vista so it should be -
Win Vista x86/x64 driver version: 6.1180.1014.2009 (WHQL certified)
You could try rolling it back to the previous version, reboot and then reinstall.
Good idea to make a restore point before trying this though.

ok problem solved. thanks for the help guys. After months of having this problem, windows 7 decided that yesterday it wanted to solve the problem on its own, even though it has tried and failed before. The DHCP or something wasn't enabled. This has fixed it.
