It's ok, you had a ton of great ideas that should have worked, but this problem is just....weird and not normal at all. If no one can figure out how to solve this problem, i may just drill a hole in my floor, get a long etherent cable, and connect it like that, but as you can understand, i do not really want to do drill a hole in my floor :) Thank you for all your help, it is greatly appreciated

i know :), but how/why would that affect it, as the ram is for processing power, right? my O/S requires 2 gbs, but i'm a little short on cash at the moment, so i haven't yet upgraded...

    Hello.

Do you have the capacity to test that wireless card on some other machine?

With so little ram it cant run all the programs as it will have to dump to hd all the time so some things can take forever to run

yes. i tried the suggestion with more ram, and i now have 1.56 gbs of ram (a friend gave me a 1 gb stick), but the problem is still there, i was thinking about probably just buying a new wifi card and trying that, since the one i have seems to be bad. It is up to admin whether this thread stays open or not, as i do not think there is a problem anymore, so to say ;)

If you will return to let us know for sure that a new wireless resolves your issue, I'll leave this open.
