I recently bought a Realtek RTL8187 wifi card/connector for my PC, but after i installed the driver and got everything going, my internet connection says "No Connections Available" when I know there are multiple connections. Windows says the driver is good for it, but when i troubleshoot my internet connection it says there is a "problem with the wireless adapter or access point", and i cannot figure out what is wrong. I know something is working because when it's plugged in it shows WiFi bars instead of an ethernet cable, but i have no connections available and a big red X over it

What manufacturer is the wireless card? If your wireless access point is 802.11n only, it won't work as RTL8187 works with 802.11a/b/g networks only.

The manufacturer is Realtek/Ralink, and it is a 802.11b/g only, but it shows up under devices connected as a 802.11n router. how do you tell what type of access point you have, as I cannot find out... Is 802.11n standard, as we have charter high-speed internet with a wifi router and all the info i found on 802.11n is mac related, and i we have pc's

I didn't get this part. What shows up under what? When you use Ralink software, it specifies the AP as b,g or n?

The Ralink wifi connector has a 802.11b/g driver, but the wifi connector shows up under devices and printers as a wireless 802.11n router, but it's not. and it does not pick up any access points at all, it says there are no connections or access points
