Looked to see if there were any other threads on how to solve this problem but no luck. I have a Samsung with Windows 7. I can connect to the internet wired using a carrier POE adapter, but when I try to connect my wireless router to it to get online, it shows connected but a yellow exclamation mark is on the connection. When I ran windows diagnostic i got the message "Connection between your access point, router or cable modem & internet is broken." My wireless card is fine because i can connect to other WIFIs, i tried the ipconfig release/renew. Also i had the the wireless router connected to a cable modem before i began using the carrier POE adapter. If that helps.

Hi Lona and welcome to the forum,
can you run the Network Tool linked in my signature and post the resulting log back here in this thread. The results will help our network gurus to diagnose the problem.
When you run the tool please disconnect your Wired Connection to prevent the tool using that connection and/or settings.

    Thanks for your patience.

The network seems ok but your not getting out. You have a cable modem and then a router connected to that is that right? If you connect a cable to the router can you get out ok? We need to know the router is connecting ok and sending the password etc before we fix the wireless

I don't have a cable modem, an cable is connected to to a carrier POE adapter. If i connect by laptop directly to the POE adapter i can connect to the internet, but if i connect through the wireless router it shows connected but it says no internet access

How is the router connected is it via wan/internet port or a lane port? It looks as if you have two dhcp servers running and you get the wrong gateway. On the router login and disable the dhcp reboot it and see if that solves it. You should then get the right details the same as you do if connected via cable

Internet port. I encountered another problem, when i turned on my laptop i could not connect to the internet anymore, was getting an error about my ip address configuration, so i had to enter a static ip and the other info from the test i ran earlier. My wired connectionis working now. I tried disabling the dhcp and rebooting but it didnt work

Change the ip of the router add 20 onto the last number ie 192.168.1.1 make it 192.168.1.21 try again

Was playing around with the wires, I took the ethernet cable out of the 'Internet' port at the back of the router and placed it in the first port marked 1 and it's working fine
