Anyways based off a lot of advice from various people, and money restraints, I've got these two options.

    Intel Core i3-2100 3.10GHz LGA1155 3MB

    or

    AMD A6-3650 FM1 2.6GHz 4MB with AMD Radeon HD 6530D APU

I need solidworks to work, no more than 10 part assemblies, so not powerfully, I just need it to work. Doesn't work on my current desktop, and based on price and everything I can't afford an i5, i7 or workstation graphics cards.. I've been told Solidworks is CPU bound so its the CPU I need to worry about anyways. I need advice/help as to which one I should choose, or neither. Thanks

    Hello & Welcome, cpoz :)

I'll get your issue marked as OPEN to attract the attention of the component experts that frequent PCHF.
It would be most helpful if you could complete your [IMG] portion of the User Profile. That would put your system's information in the small computer icon just right of your name. That will "travel with you" at PCHF so we don't have to ask for it again. Be sure to mark them to be visible. The default is NOT to show them.

Please know that our Staff of Volunteers come from locations around the world so time zones play a big part in how quickly the person with the answer is available to address your question. Your patience is appreciated!

The AMD A6 is both a CPU and GPU combined, so you might not get as much power as you would get from the i3. If you need raw power, go for the i3.
