    Hello G9yprus! Welcome to PCHF!

Before I mark your thread as open, can I just asked if you have tried a system restore?

    Regards,

So the issue is that the icon itself is missing? Got it. That requires some research....

    ;)

EDIT: my research indicates that still following the Step 1 (deleting Upper & Lower Filters) should resolve your issue.

Also as suggested originally by Smokeycheech - a System Restore might get that back for you.

This may work for you if you have Win XP Pro or Vista.

Go to Start / Run and paste gpedit.msc once it's open go to the User Configuration.

Then select Administrative Templates, then select Windows Components.

Then select Windows Explorer, and go to Hide these specified drives in My Computer, and finally choose Set to Not Configured.

Then if every thing is fair square and equal, your cdr / dvd drive icons should be showing again...

I don't see them in your registry either, G9Cyprus.

If Arctos' suggestion does not work for you, please proceed to step 4 in the URL I previously provided.

No problems. I can't imagine how difficult it must be working with English when that's not native and our instructions are in English....

You missed this in the instruction

once at the DevCon folder type “devcon stack gencdrom”. You’ll see a list of cryptic entries, one for each drive that mentions “filters” (see example below).
