    Hi,
I have an external 250G HD that is currently half full. I have 133G of free space but when I try to cut and paste a 5G folder to the drive I get an error message that says that there isn't enough free space. Any ideas on what might be going on here?

Have you tried bustin the file down to manageable bits Dude?

    5GB is one large file.

I know that that would be the obvious thing to do but I would rather not as I'm afraid it may not reassemble properly. I just think it's odd as I haven't had any problems like this before, even with 6 or 7G files. I think I will just try to zip it. Not really a big deal I just don't like it when I don't know why something isn't working.

I'm dumb. I have two 250G externals, one is NTFS and one is FAT32. I've been trying to copy to the FAT32. Thanks for the conversion notes though.
    Issue resolved, PEBCAK.
