    Hi All,
The problem I've got is this, I've got onboard sound (I believe it to have the C-Media CMI9738 chipset) which emits no sound and is showing a warning in Device Manager. I've run the troubleshooter to no avail, I've tried to update the driver to be told no newer driver available, it makes no difference if I reinstall the driver I still get no sound. What do I do next to make the **** thing play? I'd be grateful for a solution
    Ian

After uninstalling and reinstalling the realtek software I still have no sound and the Device Manager now says I've a problem with the VIA AC97 audio controller (WDM). So I think I may just have to use an aftermarket soundcard instead. Ba Humbug !!!
